Good music + good peoples + a long weekend = WIN. Saturday night the entire Cavata Crew & friends from all over headed to Harper’s ferry in Allston, MA to check out Bad Rabbits & Wale. Harpers is a great venue because it can fit 350+ heads in the building, has good sound and lets you get up close to the stage. I don’t even have to say it but Bad Rabbits KIL”T it…not killed it…KILL’T it! The crowd was absolutely hyped and screaming back the lyrics.
Wale hit the stage later on in the night and had a legion of loyal fans lining the front row. He had a DJ rather than a live band which I dont usually get too excited about but this set was on point and he even did a few 90’s covers that got the crowd amped.
After Harper’s the Cavata Crew hit up the BR after party in a legit warehouse down the block. The guys played their whole set again including some covers including MJ’s ”PYT”, Rage Against The Machine’s “Bulls on Parade” and more. The night was pretty wild and everything wrapped up around 4:30 in the mooanin. You know that Smirnoff commercial where a bunch of 20-somethings black out the windows of an old buliding and have a lights party? Imagine something like that only real and with better music.
Then to round off an already great weekend I went to Metheun, MA for a friend of a friend’s karaoke competition. I had no clue what to expect but there is definitely a good vibe in the place when people forget about their egos and inhibitions and belt out some classic jams. The good news is Lindsey won the entire competition, I danced my ass off and we didn’t die driving home in a blizzard. All around good times!
