On Wednesday, I finally got the chance to check out Boston’s House of Blues. It was kind of a trip because I remember when that spot used to be the Axis/Avalon clubs (and when an ex dragged me to see Ashlee Simpson…but I forgive myself for that musical transgression).
Normally the Foundation Room is an invite-only/members-only place but I was lucky enough to have been invited by my girl, Teryn, to the Tim Blane Band show. Not only was the Tim Blane Band on point, the Foundation Room was incredibly beautiful; the word “chill” is the best way to describe the venue’s vibe and the tunage. There were big comfy couches, the aroma of incense in the air, Buddhist statues, Moroccan-style secluded booths and lowly-lit chandeliers…which is basically what I’ve decided my future house is going to look like.

Recommended track: “Drifting and Driving.” You can also download the band’s newest EP for free!
While the Tim Blane Band was taking a short break another incredible artist, Megan Burtt, took the stage. I’ll be completely honest and say there is nothing I love more than a female musician holding it down on the keys or with an acoustic guitar, so Megan’s music was right up my alley. If you’re in the mood to get down with some good tunage with the Cavata Crew ladies you should come to Tommy Doyle’s TONIGHT in Harvard Square Cambridge, MA.

…and don’t forget to order her newest CD, “It Ain’t Love”
