Even though I’ve had a pumpkin for a few weeks now I finally got around to carving it last night. When it comes to carvin ‘kins, though, I’m traditionalist; I don’t use templates or fancy tools, just a steak knife a spoon and a prayer I don’t cut myself. Also, I’m a fan of Jack-O-lanterns with faces. Not that there’s anything wrong with interesting designs or spelling out phrases, I just like the toothy grin of punkin’ face. Now there’s a few different ways to approach the ancient art of pumpkin carving. You can be lame and use a template (booooo), you could carve out full pieces like a traditional Jack-O-lantern or you could be completely bad ass and take carving to the next level and make some incredible pieces like this…
