I am proud and excited to announce that Boston’s own Dutch ReBelle has just been signed to Amalgam Digital as their first ever female emcee!
Amalgan Digital CEO, DJ Next, didn’t just make a special announcement on Monday night at Church of Boston, he and Dutch made history. In front of a crowd containing many of the most important figures in Boston’s hip-hop scene, DJ Next announced that Dutch is officially the newest member of the Amalgam Digital roster, the first female ever signed to the label.
As seen in the video above (filmed and edited by Decriminals), Dutch joined DJ Next on stage directly following the announcement and broke right into her set with “N.A.S. [Not A Stoner]” off her latest album, the widely-praised Married To The Music.
Though specific details of the new partnership have yet to be revealed, one thing is for sure: #AmalgamBack isn’t just a hashtag, and it isn’t just a catchy phrase. Between Dutch and Amalgam’s other recent signee, Sacramento emcee Chuuwee, the level of talent and energy that has been injected into the label is simply beyond measure.
Dutch rocked the Church of Boston crowd with an impassioned performance, beaming from start to finish and pointing to the Amalgam Digital banner proudly and often, and Chuuuwee followed up with a memorable set of his own.
