CollegeFest 2012 X Notoriety Music

CollegeFest is the most heavily attended back-to-school event in New England, attracting over 17,000 college students each year! CollegeFest is a Boston institution featuring live music, celebrity appearances and free swag from more than 100 local and national sponsors and we were very lucky to receive complimentary Media passes from our friend, Matthew Whitlock, manager of Notoriety. In addition to talking with some great arts-nonprofits representatives & enjoying local musicians, I was very happy to run into our friends from VERS Clothing (who we originally met at the Boston Tee Party) slinging tees to hoards of college kids. I’ve heard about CollegeFest throughout the years but this was actually my first time attending the event. After seeing the wide variety of vendors and attendees I can guarantee that CAVATA will be an official vendor for CollegeFest 2013!  Oh, and did I mention that Kel Mitchell was this year’s host?  I can’t tell you how many tee shirts I saw with his Nickelodeon catchphrase “Who love orange soda?”  Check out the recap from CollegeFest 2011 to see firsthand how big the event truly is.

My main reason for attending the event, however, was to check out Notoriety’s set.  Who is Notoriety?  Notoriety is a two man group consisting of emcees Vital Silveira (Vydle Sinez) and Charles Monfort (Incredible Chuck)  This hip hop duo has been on my radar for a quite a while now and with their latest release, “Road Trippin’, Kool-Aid Sippin’, Chicken, Beef Patties, And Herb (Hosted By CR The Beast)” I jumped at the chance to see them live.  They were the last musical act to perform on the second night, right before the Cataracs took the stage, and I was enjoying every tune from the front row.
