YOU’VE GOT TO BE F*CKING KIDDING ME RIGHT? THAT MOVIE WAS A JOKE RIGHT? Like they’re actually gonna make the real movie next week, right? Liam NEESON is gonna come out and say, “Hahahahaha, fooled you guys. Come see the real movie starting next Friday.” I say this because this was easily…EASILY…one of the top 3 worst (WORST) movies ever made. AND IT SEEMED LIKE SUCH A MANLY FILM, TOO! F*CK, LIAM, WHY YOU HAVE TO GO BREAKIN’ MY HEART? To put it into perspective, it’s like if me and my friends were bored one day during the snow storm and we all got together, grabbed a video camera, acted out a script we wrote earlier that day then added stupid idiot wolves in later. COMPLETELY AND ABSOLUTELY the worst acting in a movie…ever. IT MAKES THE KIDS FROM “MISS MARCH” (also one of the worst movies ever made) LOOK LIKE THEY WERE IN SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION. It was like a comedy but that’s the thing, they weren’t trying too make it one. They were as serious as if they were making a movie about nazis or something. My buddy called me and goes “Wanna go see ‘The Grey’?” and I was like “YES I LOVE LIAM NEESON!” Boy, I wish I was taking a sh*t or shower or something when my phone rang because that’s probably the worst two hours I’ve ever spent in my life. I’d rather spend two hours sticking f*cking knives into my d*ckhole. It was crazy. They were saying the most corny shit, like it was on purpose, not once BUT THE WHOLE F*CKING MOVIE. I swear i only stayed the whole time because I was waiting for one, just one good acting scene. NOTHING! EVERYTHING that was said had absolutely nothing to do with THE PLOT!! It was as if they found the worst actors ever just to make Liam Neeson’s lines seem less stupid. IT HAS TO BE…HAS TO BE a bad joke. LIKE, THEY COULDN’T SERIOUSLY THROW AWAY MILLIONS ON THAT SH*T. WE’RE IN A F*CKING RECESSION PEOPLE! It’s like an old joke I heard once; A cocky Spanish guy, a fat black guy and a corny white guy follow a BIG DUMB IRISH GUY into the woods to make me completely hate all movies ever made. I HAVE LOST ALL RESPECT FOR LIAM NEESON. YA BRO, YOU HAD “TAKEN” AND THAT WAS PRETTY SICK BUT THAT DOESN’T GIVES YOU NO RIGHT TO WALK INTO ANOTHER MOVIE SET AND TAKE THE SAME VOICE, ACTING AND PERSONALITY INTO A MOVIE ABOUT FUCKING WOLVES. It had the exact same acting as like a Freddie or Jason movie but with no tits or teenagers f*cking in a log cabin. I’d call this movie a horror film, not a drama or action because the acting was HORRIBLE just like Slasher films are. The scary, make-you-jump scenes were in it like slashers , but when it ends you walk out thinking “”WHAT THE FUCK? WHY WOULD I EVER THINK THAT MOVIE WAS GONNA BE GOOD?” I SWEAR WHEN I LEFT I WANTED TO CLIMB BEHIND THE GLASS AND PUNCH THAT F*CKIN TICKET STUB LADY IN HER GLASSES FOR NOT WARNING ME ABOUT THE HORROR I WAS HEADED FOR. That’s like me seeing two rapists in a bathroom and having her about to walk in and me being like “Oh, I left the seat down for ya. “…B*tch.

DO NOT SEE THIS FUCKING MOVIE. EVER. NOT AT THE MOVIES, NOT ON DEMAND, NOT AT REDBOX. NOT ON NETFLIX. NOT ON HBO OR ANOTHER f*ckin MOVIE CHANNEL. NOT WHEN IT COMES ON FX. Entrepreneurial Emersonians

I love featuring friends and former classmates who have also taken the entrepreneurial plunge. In this post, I’d like to introduce you to two extraordinary women: Kristin Lajeunesse and Lindsey Guest. I met these two lovely ladies during graduate school at Emerson College in 2007 and to say that their current endeavors are impressive would be, well, an understatement. They have supported CAVATA since I launched the brand in 2008 and am more than happy to promote their creative projects now. Congratulations, Kristin and Lindsey. I’m so proud of the both of you! IMC-4E, ladies.

Kristin is currently traveling across the United States on a year-long journey chronicling the country’s most delectable vegan restaurants in her blog Will Travel For Vegan Food. Kristin was able to fund her idea through Kickstarter.com, the world’s largest funding platform for creative projects, and raised over $12,000! In her words, “There are few things that I enjoy more than discovering new (to me) vegan restaurants. It’s true. I’m the embarrassing friend who giggles over having more than one vegan choice on a menu, bounces up and down just at the thought of vegan cinnamon buns and especially soft serve ice cream and takes multiple pictures of food.” When she comes back to Boston I’m making her take me to her favorite Beantown vegan spot!

Skrillex Grammy Nods

I’ve always been a fan of electronic music but there’s something about dubstep that sucks me in. Get…ready…for…the…DROP! Electronic, dubstep music in particular, is a hudgely influential force behind current pop and hiphop trends which is why I can’t believe more people aren’t talking about Skrillex, aka Sonny Moore, being nominated for Best New Artist along with four, yeah FOUR, other nominations. With more nominations than Nicky Minaj and Katy Perry combined, some are saying the rise of Skrillex this year is an attempt to bring back the “cool” factor often missing from stuffy awards shows while others are donning his nomination as a monumental victory for the modern electro artist considering no DJ has ever been nominated in this category. Skrillex sums its up best himself by saying “Whether it’s on an acoustic guitar or if it’s on a computer, music is music, and the most important thing about music is the emotional impact it has on people and culture. I’m only hoping that my nomination this year will carry on to the next year and open doors for more people to come up and be noticed and recognized as actual musicians.”

If you’re not familiar with the world of dub take yourself over to YouTube and start listening to Datsik, Excision, Mt. Eden, Liquid Stranger, Nero and so many other artists that are making mind-melting ear candy. Whether its an original jam or a dubstep remix to your favorite Adele song, dub’s fanbase is growing and its digging its grimy (in a good way) claws into every genre it touches. If you’ve just read this blog and are still asking, “What is dubstep?” you really need to do yourself a favor and experience the these insane buildups and breakdowns for yourself IMMEDIATELY.

Congratulations to my friend, Tony Tucker, and the StreetHYpE dance crew on their insanely impressive performance in Circles 3 at Boston University. StreetHYpE premiered their moves in front of a sold-out crowd for the first time last night and completely blew everyone away. I know Tony through Melissa Kelley Clarke’s Dance Studio of Braintree where I’ve seen him perform everything from beautiful ballet pieces to contemporary jazz numbers. StreetHYpE brings all of this training together, knocks up the energy level 10 fold and adds an unbelievable swagger you have to experience for yourself. At just 22, Tony is an incredible troupe leader, performer and all around great person I am privileged to call my friend and I can’t wait to see what ideas he has in store for future StreetHYpE shows! We’re very excited to announce a new addition to the CAVATA family. Say hello to Timmy Smith AKA Smitty.

Timmy Smith is the man behind “Timmy’s Take,” an honest, no-holds-barred, often NSFW movie review blog. Social media sites like Facebook and Twitter have made it easy for “Timmy’s Take” readers to share his raunchy, side-splitting commentary with friends and co-workers resulting in his fan base growing exponentially within the past year. Now Timmy is making a big move by taking “Timmy’s Take” off of Facebook and bringing it to it’s new home on www.cavataclothing.com!

If you want to read a run-of-the-mill review, Timmy isn’t for you. Like us, Timmy is a real (yet far from average) person who finds pretentious, overly -analyzed reviews to be a complete snoozefest. Timmy’s reviews are hilarious, highly-opinionated, straight to the point and sometimes mildly offensive and the best way I can describe the inner workings of Timmy Smith’s mind is Ebert and Roeper meets Beavis and Butthead. I recently re-watched ART & COPY, a powerful film about advertising and inspiration. I loved it the first time but I think I enjoyed it even more the second time around!

Directed by Doug Pray(Surfwise, Scratch, Hype!) ART & COPY reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time — people who’ve profoundly impacted our culture, yet are virtually unknown outside their industry.
