Adele Quitting Music?

As I was surfing the blogosphere for my daily news, gossip and morning chuckle fix, I stumbled across an article on www.pryncepality.com that I honestly thought was a joke: “Adele is Quitting Music For Love.”  After winning a boatload of grammy awards on Sunday, how could Adele just…quit?

In what won’t probably sit well with her fans, Adele is over making a career out of being broken-hearted.  Especially now that the singer is in love, it appears she’s set to leave her music career behind, at least for now, anyway.

The six-time grammy award winning singer told Vogue magazine she is set to take a “four or five year” break from music to concentrate on her love life.

“I am f***ing off for four or five years.  If I am constantly working, my relationships fail.  So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record.  And be in love and be happy.  And then I don’t know what I’ll do.  Get married. Have some kids.  Plant a nice vegetable patch,”

For those who didn’t know, Adele has been dating charity worker Simon Konecki since last October. And despite it still being in its early stage Adele believes she’s found ‘the one’ crediting him for being the one to help her through her recovery from vocal surgery.  A vocal surgery that was performed in our great city of Boston at Mass General Hospital!  That must have been an agonizing experience; almost losing the voice that made you famous and is beloved by people across the globe.  I know I’m happy to see Adele back in action and her performance at this year’s Grammy Awards showed that she can roll with the punches and come back stronger than ever.

I say go for it, Adele!  Love is an amazing feeling, something more people write songs about then actually experience.  Artists are supposed to evolve as their careers progress so I’m excited to see what beautiful melodies this song bird creates in her new ethereal disposition.

This is a perfect example of a singer who wrote two amazing albums dripping with heart break and pain and has now found something that makes her happy.  Plus, the woman is a mere 23 years old!  She deserves some happiness with her luvah.  What could possibly be wrong with that?

Git it, girl.
